  Staggering Footage – Help

  Hi i have taken some footage of a paving product panel 1400mm long and 600mm deep. I used a Sony XDCAM EX1 and 720p on a Camtram (dolly & track). I brought the footage into FCP7 and it appears to stagger as it moves across the product panel, i thought setting the camera at progressive instead of interlaced it would not do this, can anyone help ?

  720p describes the frame size, not the frame rate.
  There’s a BIG difference between 720p24 and 720p60. There’s good reason why the latter is often used in sports.

  It’s the temporal resolution that’s important and 60 pictures per second is the best. Shutter speed can also have impact relative to frame rate as it can add motion blur (low speed) vs a sort of stuttery “Saving Private Ryan” look at a very high speed.
