Activity Forums Sony Cameras EX3 and PDW-U1

    I recently purchased a Sony EX3 camcorder and PDW-U1 XDCAM read/write unit. I would like to transfer my EX3 files to XDCAM HD disks, via the PDW-U1, for media delivery to clients and for archiving (I was told I could do this by a Sony rep). Neither Sony’s Clip Browser or the XDCAM Transfer software seems to allow this. Am I missing something or is this not possible? Do I need another software program?

    David,

    You need to export the EX3 files to your computer and then transfer to the PDW-U1 with the Sony software. This presumes that your computer is qualified for the Sony software (most PC’s and current Intel Apples).

    You need the PDW-U1 utility software available for both Windows and Mac. You can find it at the bottom of the page here:
