    Howdy all,

I wish I could raise the audio monitor level HIGHER (XDCAM EX PMW EX3). With the volume at max, it is still too low in my headsets. I’ve tried setting the audio output to monitor only Ch1 (interview mic) in both ears and it’s still too low for me. Any help (or am I just getting too old)?
Also, I would like to see number markings on the audio meter in the viewfinder, as seen in the Audio Status screen.

    Thanks.

Perhaps it’s your headsets. I use Sony MDR-7506 which sound fine.

Audio may be harder to hear while you’re eating.

Have you used the audio monitor adjustment buttons up on the handle?

Most of Sony’s smaller cameras have lower than ideal monitor output levels. The Z1U was really really low. The EX-3 has just enough with the Sony headphones mentioned above. Noisy environments can be a problem if you are trying to confirm good audio on a lav mic.

    Thanks to all,
Yes, I’ve raised the monitor level on the handle to max. and the level is still too low for me.
A solution for me will be to use a small belt-pack amplifier we use for IFB to boost the signal from camera to headphone.
    Thanks again.
