  FCP XDCAM transfer can’t import TGV K2 XDCAM MXF

  Dear Sir

  I just test with TGV K2 media server MXF file in the FCP XDCAM transfer software, but it couldn’t import with below error message

  “Invaild SMPTE key..”

  Have you tested with TGV K2 media server MXF file (XDCAM 422 50M) to import with FCP XDCAM software?

  Is this possible? or not?

  This is not possible. Sony’s XDCAM Transfer is not a universal MXF import/export tool for FCP, it is specifically and solely for interfacing with Sony’s own XDCAM media. If you need to work with Thomson Grass Valley k2 based clip media then you need the GV-Connect component from TGV … I do not know whether this is publicly available yet

  Also you can try using Filp4Mac’s K2 Profile Component, however I believe it does not currently support XDCAM HD 422 50Mbps footage.
