Sony EX 3 Prime lens
I just purchased a Sony EX 3, included in the package was a lens adapter. Can anyone tell me what still camera (Nikon, etc.) lens will fit on this adapter to create a prime lens? I need to shorten the camcorder’s length for vehicle interior mounting. I need the camera to be as short as possible with a wide angle so the camera does not have to be mounted on the exterior door or hood. Has anyone used this supplied adapter for anything?

…that adapter would be a EX3 to 1/2″ B4 adapter. Has nothing to do with Photo lenses.
Anyway, even with a proper adapter a photo lens would by multiplied by 5.5 times or around that.
So the widest Nikon will be 55mm, not exactly what you need.I suggest the stock lens and a WA adapter or rent a super wide 1/2″ lens.

The adapter you have is for 1/2 broadcast zoom lens. You need the Adaptimax.

The fact that the EX-3 has a removable lens doesn’t mean that the Sony WA adapter doesn’t work. We have an EX-1 and EX-3 and ordered the same wide angle adapter for each. They both have the menu setting to accomodate this adapter, which obviously works the same on the front mount of both the fixed and removable lens.

The Adaptimax gives you a 5 X multiplication factor which can be cool for extreme telephoto work.
