Using Sony’s SxS reader and clip browser software, I imported three clips (three cards). All were successful. Now, one of the clips is broken into different pieces. I do not know how it happened but obviously I made a large booboo. How do I get this file back into a usable form? I edit on Edius. I have worked with many clips and this is the first problem.

    Thanks

Unfortunately you’re not providing enough details. What is a “busted file?”

How do you know it’s broken into different pieces?

The max file size of the MP4 files are 4GB so such files will be spanned. Also recordings across cards will be spanned too.

Did you attempt to import as MP4 or rewrap to MXF first or…?

You don’t mention at all what happens when you import into Edius, Edius crashes, gives error message, cat barks at you?
    ______________

Person calls doctor and says, leg is broken. Doctor asks him to look at and describe break and then goes into how to splint it until help arrives. 20 minutes into this the person says, “no, no, no, it’s the leg on my coffee table and I want to know how to support it so the dishes don’t fall off. I called you because I saw the same table in your waiting room when I last visited.”
