  dropout on xdcam disc?

  we shoot xdcam disc, then archive to xdcam disc. we dub realtime to the f70 deck w/hd-sdi. i was watching an edit copy being played on the f70 deck and the program had a frame with what appeared to be a dropout! it was a noticable horizontal glitch. i showed it to my senior editor and he said yeah he’s even seen that on our field masters. anyone else ever heard of this?

  I’m curious to know if it is on the master disk too? I would have to think it was an issue with media as I believe there is an error correction control used with the predictable Long GOP codec from the playback deck.

  We have shot 50-60 discs and have never seen any glitches.
