Picture Differences HQ v. SP Modes
I had access recently to the projection booth of a cinema that had acquired all the new kit to show digital films in addition to the usual film prints. The kit cost around £60,000 and the pictures were supurb. I showed video direct from the card in the EX1, some clips shot at HQ (35 Mbps) and some shot at SP (25Mbps) and no one present could detect the slightest difference in the pictures. I had to take the media out of the camerea via Component because the cinema didn’t have the add on SDI connection. How come both pictures looked equally good and that being so why would I not be well advised to continue shooting in SP and upgrade the video via Convergent Design’s HD-Connect for editing in HD thereby fitting so much more on to the cards?
