There’s been no recent announcement from Sony that I’m aware of regarding this. Supposedly the firmware update is coming but so far no joy.

Juan Martinez from Sony cruises the forums here at the COW so he may see this thread and respond.

The “story” I heard is that the firmware update will come out with the release of the Sony Hard Drive recorder since the EX1 will need that whereas the release firmware of the EX3 is already compatible.

BTW, if you look at ClipBrowser 2 the metedata referring to cache record is now visible (I had found it the actual file metadata previously). One can hope that that indicates a possibility too.

Craig, Will this be an end user update or will we be sending the camera to San Jose?

    Good Luck

I know that http://www.sony.ca has it for sure:

    https://www.sony.ca/xdcamex/software.htm

About halfway down the page you’ll find the 2 new versions for Mac and Windows.

I’ve gone back to version 1 becuae it’s at least twice as fast as Version 2 at exporting MXF files. Time is money.

ClipBrowser 2 had CRC checking enabled. It also has Processing Speed or Data Protection options when copying files. Have you checked those settings?

Not talking about copying (I use Shotput for that) – just exporting MXF (which is just rewrapping). More than twice as slow.
