I recently recorded AC-3, 5.1 surround sound data onto an XDCAM disk during a live broadcast and now I would like to extract the data and turn it into a .ac3 file, so I can import it into DVD studio pro. Right now, I am using XDCAM Transfer to rip the files off of the XDCAM disk and it’s wrapping the file as a .mov so I can bring it into FCP for editing.

has anyone out there ever recorded an AC-3 stream onto an XDCAM disk and successfully pulled it off as a .ac3 file?

Is there a way to demux the content into separate .WAV files? If could do that, than I could use compressor to create a new ac3 file that DVD studio Pro understands.

    Any advice??
