We are using 23.98 in the USA because our “film” feature films are shot at a film rate of 24 frames. The rate of 23.98 allows an easier conversion later when the movie is transferred for use on our television system.

The USA has an electrical system of 60Hz and our television system displays at 29.97. Some in Europe shoot at 25 frames to closer match the TV rate of 25 frames and 50Hz electrical system.

    Hello Steve,
can be it the fact that the Shuttern a little decreases, if I turn afterwards 23.98 and in cut on 24P converts? I saw into my test that it with 25P of more Shutter. I m like 24P or 23,98, dont 25P
