We have two PDW-F70 XDCAM record decks and we are looking for a solution to make a duplicate XDCAM master – faster than realtime. HD-SDI works well but we have to dub 15 hours in a short period of time while we are in production, so shortening the dubbing time is critical.

It seems like a no-brainer – two machines – digital files – copy – done… but I haven’t been able to find out if its possible.

    Any thoughts?

    thanks,
    Craig

the new (Mac) version of Sony’s XDCAM Transfer software (v2.0 expected October) is supposed to alllow multiple XDCAM devices to be mounted simultaneously … that should allow discs to be duplicated easily via file transfer.

this fucntion may already be acheivable using the PC version of the software, which is has been in development a lot longer. i’m not too familiar with that version though.
