  Footnote Separator Line is Extra Long

  Howdy!

  For some reason InDesign randomly puts in an extra long footnote separator line every now and again in my document. Most of the footnote separator lines are short (they go about 1/6th of way across the page), but every now and then ID will put in a line that goes the entire distance of the page!
  Can anyone suggest how this might be fixed?
