We have encountered an issue where we have placed a cmyk image in indesign. The picture box has a pms fill (unintentional), which cannot be seen due to the image placed within the box.

The pdf has been created and through separations you cannot see on the plates any sign of the pms colour.

What I am confused about is that when the job was sent to an offset printer the image dropped out on the RIP and we were told that was the reason why, which I am not convinced due to the previous page having the same attributes, would they not both drop out as they were a direct copy of eachother?

If anyone could shed some light it would be much appreciated.
