  • Apply drop shadow effect to a single object

I am creating a trifold in InDesign CS5 and I currently have a few blocks of text and a few images. I want to add a drop shadow to one single block of text, but everytime I select that block of text and add the effect the effect is applied to all objects on the screen.

Can anyone tell me where I have gone wrong?

Sorry for the lack of details about my setup. If I can provide useful specifics to determine a solution please let me know.

    Thank you,
    John

I’ve never seen this happen before but….Are you using a character or paragraph style? Maybe the effect is being applied to the style which is then applied to all other items using the same style.
