  Character or Paragraph Styles?

  I’m working with InDesign CS3 to develop a rather large 50+ page book that includes pictures and captions for 150 nominees across 25 categories. My list of nominees and categories is a 16-page Word document, so I don’t think a character or paragraph style is possible given the format of that Word document, BUT … I know there’s a solution for individual text boxes to have either a character and/or a paragraph style to get me the end result below. Trouble is, nesting a style is challenging without a character to define the next style. Anyone?
