  • Reverse blocks within text blocks

I need headings that are white text on black boxes while the rest of the body text remains black. For instance a classified page often has the category names in black boxes throughout the page. Is there a way to do this that allows the headings to still be part of the block so if something needs to change I don’t have move everything?
    Thanks

Have you tried sourcing a reverse font? From Linotype or something?

Consider pasting in a black rectangle (create in indesign) into the text box then on the next line (after return) have the white text with a large baseline shift, then the following line just have 0 leading. Should do the trick.

If the publication is modular based then we use InDemand from http://www.mymacmac.com. Also have heard of some people using scripts on the adobe forums at http://www.adobe.com

my buddy scott over at illustratorworld.com had a real good solution (and he responded before the project was long gone too, haha). give all the headings thick black paragraph rules then color the text the paper color. this solution took a minute to impliment into the paragraph style and get the barrel of a gun away from my mouth.
