  • importing a publisher file into indesign

I’ve got a document created in publisher that I would prefer to get into InDesign to use. Is there a way to open a publisher file or convert it to a usable format for manipulation in inDesign?

    Thank

I feel your pain. Publisher? whew… so shines the problem with the desktop revolution!

I’m not aware of any simple conversions.

However, I don’t use many Microsoft products so I’m not sure how well Word, if at all, would convert the text itself.

Since any actual design will need to be redone in InDesign, perhaps you can just export the text as rich text format or even ascii from Publisher?

Or, if you can make a pdf from Publisher and import that into InDesign…
Sometimes opening a pdf within Acrobat first and saving will allow better friendliness within InDesign. Or even opening a pdf in Illustrator.
