  • Adobe Dynamic link between Premiere CS5 & AE CS5 lagging and slow

I copy my sequence from Premiere and paste it in AE but the editing is very slow. It takes at least 2 sec. after each mouse click to take effect. I don’t think its my machine either. I just bought a 12 core mac pro tower with 12 gig of ram and my footage is only 720. What is the deal???? thanks

oh yeah the only thing running in the bg is Safari

What are your memory and multiprocessing settings?
Have you updated your AE and Premiere (there have been quite a few bug fixes)?
Have you tried importing the Premiere sequence (not using Dynamic Link)?

Ram reserved for other apps: 5 GB
Ram available for AE: 7 GB
    Checked Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously
    Installed CPU’s: 24
    CPUs for other apps: 12
    Ram allocation: 1.5 GB
    Actual CPU’s: 3

    I will update also

How do I import a sequence? I am copying and pasting the footage from premiere straight into an AE comp. Is that the same thing?

    Thanks for your help man
