  memory setting in AFTER EFFECTS

  Hi All,

  So just trying to set AE correctly here. I’m switching a lot between PP and AE through dynamic link and I experience a lot of lag and time rendering.
  I have a MACPRO 2.4 8 core + 8 gig ram.

  1- In the memory and multiprocessor prefs, It says that I have 16 processor cores. NOT 8? what does that mean?

  2- How much ram should I allocate per background CPU?

  3- What kind of task is this actually helping performing? I find rendering really slow..
