  Resolve Sharpen Function

  Hi
  I have some content of an orchestra with highly reflective instruments. Is there a way to apply sharpness to the image generally but NOT to those instruments where the luminance level exceeds a certain defined level? The faces of the musicians take the sharpening but the reflective instruments generate black/white moskito effects.

  Can’t you mask those high luminosity areas before you sharpen the rest?

  Hi Bill
  Thanks for your comment. I solved the problem a different way. I went back to my vintage fcp7 and found that by clicking the “luminosity” flag in the sharpen effect controls solved the problem.
