When capturing via Media Express or Resolve to our new QNAP, it won’t save a capture larger than exactly 2GB… but works with CC
We do media conversions most everyday from film or videotape to digital files on hard drives. We finally broke down and bought a QNAP in order to simplify the process from capturing to fixes to export.
I spent two hours on the phone with QNAP last week trying to figure out why we cannot capture direct to QNAP via Black Magic Media Express. We tried SD, HD, DV, ProResSD, ProResHD….all with the same result, the captures all timed out exactly whenever the file became 2GB. If we use Premiere Pro, we can capture any size file.
We like using Media Express a lot.
QNAP threw their hands up and said that it is a BlackMagic Software issue.
Has anyone every dealt with this, or heard of this problem?

The old rendering to a network share problem…
If I remember correctly, it’s a 64bit Quicktime bug. Adobe figured out a workaround, but I guess no one else has or is interested. I wish Apple would address this. It’s been going on for years.https://forums.adobe.com/thread/680432
