Stereoscopic 3d output
Hi, This is where I have found most questions about stereoscopic 3d yet it might not be the right place to ask.
So I’ve got a stereoscopic video that I preview in anaglyph. Since we are lacking a 3d tv I’m full of questions which I can’t check.
But as far as I understand, I could make a normal BluRay with left and right side in each frame (side by side or under over) like this:

..then a 3d tv can unstretch that and be used with passive stereoscopic glasses .. with a considerable loss in resolution.
Therefore I am interested in what is called “frame packed” where two fullHD images are packe in one image of 1980*2205 pixels. Like so:

Now, first I’m not sure about what I said about the BluRay method.
And framepacked, what do I need to do that? I’ve seen mentioned HDMI 1.4, BluRay 3d and Decklink 3d+.
Do I need a special card to feed a 1980*2205 image and special hardware to create a disc that holds that resolution? Can a Standard 3dtv interprete that signal?Any advice or links to sources would be great!
