Wirecast with mulitple Blackmagic Design cards
We do video production and need to have the capability to live switch multiple cameras while streaming, and so we wanted to build a system that would be compact yet have the power to do at least three camera inputs, take a networked PC input showing Powerpoint or other screen capture and not only record directly to hard drive, but also send the program output to other devices for redundant recording or possibly IMag projection plus live streaming, all inexpensively.
We built a machine using Wirecast and Black Magic cards that does all this including inputs for 3 or 4 cameras and outputs that can be used for recording the program or ISO feeds or sending to other external devices. Functionally it competes very well with a Tricaster we also have. Most of the computer pieces are from the TonyMac “Buyers Guide”. Links to the parts are in the blog.
