Upgraded from DeckLink Studio 2 to 4K Extreme, Playback Issues
Came in this weekend to swap my older DeckLink Studio 2 workstation with a newly purchased 4K Extreme turnkey system (see: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/280996/BM-swap-machines.jpg ). But I appear to be having playback issues that I’m SURE is a configuration error on my part, but I just can’t seem to work it out, even after reading over the manual and installing the latest BM drivers.
Using the Adobe CC Suite, I view my edits on a 27″ DELL HDMI computer monitor for HD review, and simultaneously on an old Sony SDI PVM-20L5 Trinitron monitor for SD review (both seen in my messy office photo above). On my DeckLink Studio 2 workstation, all worked perfectly. I saw HD via the HDMI on the DELL flatscreen monitor, and SD on the Sony tube monitor. I should also note my speakers are attached via the Sony’s SDI-OUT, so I need this monitor in the mix for audio.
So I come into work and just swap out the PCs, leaving pretty much everything else in place, thinking this should be an easy swap. But a few hours later, it isn’t.
Using the configurations below, I just can’t get Premiere to play anything when Blackmagic is chosen as the preferred output device for audio and video. If I don’t use the Blackmagic for playback, all is well.
In After Effects, I can’t get anything to show on both monitors either.
I’m sure I just have some setting wrong on the Blackmagic Control Panel output settings. I tried to set them on my 4K Extreme workstation the same as I have on my old Studio 2 workstation, but as you probably know, the options are slightly different.
I don’t view anything in 4K, I only use HDMI and the SDI outs, and occasionally, the components for the rare ingestion of BetaCam footage.
What do I have wrong? Can the 4K Extreme card work in a 1080-only environment like mine?
My old Studio 2 configuration:

Thanks.
