  • Bandwidth issue with Thunderbolt and Decklink?

Posted by Bob Gundu on January 24, 2013 at 5:50 pm

I have a macbook retina connected to a Thunderbolt Sonnet enclosure with a Red Rocket card and a Decklink SDI card. When running Davinci Resolve or FCPX, I get crazy flicker on the connected monitor via the SDI connection. The only way I can fix this in Resolve is to switch the ColorSpace to Data Levels. IN FCPX, this flicker only happens when editing and playing back 4K material.

My suspicion for the flicker is because of bandwidth. Any tips on how to fix this issue?

    Thanks,

    Bob

I’d shoot an email to BMD support asking if they encountered a similar issue; look into using UltraStudio 4K on a 2nd TB port rather than the Decklink on the same TB channel with RedRocket.
