  • BMD Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 HDMI Video record & SDI timecode record?

    Hi all!

I own a BMD Hyperdeck shuttle 2 and use it to record HDMI from my Nikon D800.

So far the thing works pretty darned good.

My problem is that I would like to be able to start/stop recording without having to press record on the shuttle.

I know that the new firmware allows start/stop trigger via sdi start/stop flags or even timecode, my question is if I can record via HDMI and use the sdi to trigger recording.

So far I have tried a Din 1.0/2.3 to BNC to RCA to 3.5mm mini to iphone to generate timecode but this did not work. There are many potential points of failure in this setup but is it even possible to control and record timecode via sdi while capturing AV via hdmi?

Or in order to get TC support does the AV signal have to be SDI?

    Thanks!
