  Multibridge Pro Stopping Mac from Booting

  Hi,

  Had a couple of the original MultiBridges from about 4 years ago. 1 of them developed a noisy fan and we had it swapped out as some of the units had issues with bad soldering as well.

  The new one was just as noisy and after several years it has now started to show signs of dying. Now the Mac it is attached to won’t boot when the MB is connected. If you disconnect the 4 lane connector it starts fine.

  We’ve done some tests in the standalone mode from HD SDI to various formats and it works in all modes except DVI out. Obviously we use the DVI side to power our second external monitor from FCP.

  Is it worth trying to get this fixed as the new ones are not cheap and also we don’t have any macs that will take the new ones (V. 3,1 and above on the Mac Pro’s) If so does anyone know who might take this job on in the UK, London area?

  Get a decklink studio. Those generation multibridge are terrible.

  That would be great except we are stuck with 10.5.5 because of our XSan infrastructure and money constraints on upgrading the entire system to the minimum OS of 10.6. for that card.

  Know anyone who fixes Multibridges?
