any FCP genius out there?
Hey guys,
I’m trying to capture the VGA feed from a PC graphics card to my Black Magic Decklink HD Extreme DVI input that is installed on my Mac Pro. I use a VGA to DVI converter, but it seems not to work…
According to the BlackMagic support team, “in order to be able to capture the video coming from the graphics card, the DVI output must be a TV resolution. If it is outputting a monitor resolution like 1024×768, this will not work and the DeckLink card will not see this. It must be outputting a TV resolution like 1920×1080 or 1280×720 in order for this to work.”
Is there anyone with high editing skills that knows how to solve this problem?

the Decklink Extreme or Decklink HD Extreme does not have a DVI input. Do you mean HDMI input. You can’t send an analog VGA signal into a HDMI input.
Matrox makes a scan converter for $1000 that will accomplish this.

First off, thanks for your response, and I’m sorry, I meant an HDMI input.
The Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme 2 that I have has HDMI inputs apparently (Model#BDLKHDEXT2). I actually just bought this converter…
…which I hope it works :S

Well that converter that I bought didn’t worked :S I just found out that the Blackmagic Decjlink Extreme that I have only captures up to 1080i and not 1080p…. so I’m guessing that now I need to find a converter for 1080i
Do you know if this will work out?
