Capture codecs supported by Media Express?
Posted by Brad Bussé on November 29, 2010 at 11:50 pmIs the Media Express program still limited to capturing MJPEG or uncompressed, or can it also capture DVCPROHD or an equivalent codec?

November 30, 2010 at 9:32 amStill limited I’m afraid. Blackmagic has stated several times the past year that an update is coming, but it seems to take forever.
We’re seriously considering dumping all our BM cards and switch to AJA because of this …

December 3, 2010 at 12:35 pmCurrently on Windows, you can capture to MJPEG and Uncompressed.
On the Mac, you can capture to DVCPRO HD and ProRes as long as Final Cut is installed. This is because the codecs are provided by Final Cut Pro and not us.

February 19, 2011 at 1:23 pmCan Media Express use all the installed Quicktime codecs? How about Quicktime IMX, this codec is also installed with Final Cut Pro.

March 10, 2011 at 8:24 pmWe would like to use the HuffYUV codec for our very busy PC-based, Media Express + Duo capture station. Having to capture uncompressed is unnecessarily chewing through disk space.
We use the HuffYUV codec in many of our processes because it’s lossless, is incredibly space efficient and not too processor intensive.
How can we capture using the HuffYUV codec in Media Express?
Thanks,
