    Hi everybody.

Probably I will say something stupid, but I’ve recently seen a monitor with RGBHV connections. I must say I don’t know much about HV sync signals. What I’d like to do is to send RGB signal from my Multibridge Pro 2 to this monitor. But I need to get some reference. Is there any way to convert a reference signal produced on a BlackMagic Sync Generator onto H and V signals?

modern monitors (even 10 year old monitors) use Y Pb Pr component signals, and a few use R G B, with SYNC ON GREEN. Modern monitors (even 10 year old monitors) don’t use H and V sync – they use sync on green. Even if the jacks are there, they will probably use sync on green (this is called composite sync, where the H+V sync signals are composited, or superimposed on the Green channel, or the Y channel).

If in fact you have a 20 year old monitor that demands using external horizontal and vertical sync – WHO CARES – it’s too old, you can’t use it, throw it out. It’s not “cool” to get this working, with the low cost of modern products today. I don’t care if it’s free. Throw it out.

Your multibridge pro will have sync on the Green or Y channel. You have to do nothing to make this work.
