  Deck Link Studio – FCP – New Clip on Start Stop

  Hi everyone,

  I have been going bonkers trying to solve this,

  I am digitizing from XDCAM HD Camera (PDW 330) through Component HD into a Decklink Studio.

  My problem is that when I digitize a disc it comes in as one whole clip.

  Is there any way to be able to make FCP + Blackmagic digitize the footage as individual clips from the break points on the disc, as in when everytime I cut the camera is makes a new clip?

  Hi Dylan,

  I don’t know of any built in feature in Final Cut Pro to do so as that feature is for DV and HDV clips where the date/time metadata is embedded. I think there are third party plugins you can run on your captured clip to break it up into subclip though.
