  Decklink SP into FCP version 5 video comes in black and white ?

  Hey all, I just installed for the first time a Decklink SP card into a Mac Dual G5. I’m running a VHS player into the BM card via (Y cable/BNC) to a VHS (RCA) connection. I was told that the (Y) connection will act independently as a composite signal.

  Anyway, when I choose (Blackmagic @ 8 bit 4:2:2) for the digitizing preset setting in FCP 5.1., video is coming in but it comes only in black and white, it’s a color tape. Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong ? Are there certain software settings that one needs to select ?

  Hi Patrick,

  In OS X’s System Preferences, you should see a DeckLink or Blackmagic preference pane. Select that and make sure NSTC/PAL video is the option you are using for Input.
