    Hello Blackmagic People.

Congrats on the DaVinci acquisition BTW.
I’m really interested in picking up a Canon 7d, and know that it’s best to transcode the h.264 clips before editing/fx. I’m a windows and Premiere CS4 user, and am looking for a really solid, compressed, intermediate codec for editing. So far, I’ve come across cineform’s neo hd and prospect hd products, but monitoring those seems to be tied to buying a Xena card from AJA. I’ve also noted you guys (BMD) have an HD jpeg codec in addition to the uncompressed codecs. I definitely don’t want to go the DVCPRO HD route, but also don’t want to have to work uncompressed if I can help it.

So, in your opinion, if I want realtime playback and monitoring in PR CS4, and want a high-quality compressed codec that can be used for effects, compositing, and finishing as well, what card/codec combination do you recommend?

Thanks ahead of time for your input.
