  • Need to generate a space rock or asteroid flying by, with control of angle

Hello, I have a space themed video where I am looking to do an asteroid or space rock flying by. It would be from an angle past the camera coming from the foreground and moving off into the distance at a slight angle. I’d like to be able to control the angle.

I have Particular and have been trying to figure out how to make something like an asteroid, but not having much luck. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

FreeForm Pro or ShapeShifter AE would make this really easy. All you need is a good rock/asteroid texture and a good 3d displacement map.

    Hiya Rich,

Im creating an asteroid also. I can use 3d max but want to learn cinema4d as it has good integration with ae and it seems faster and more dynamic. Ive downloaded a plug in called rockgen which comes with a texture but it has grass on it and Im not sure how to edit the texture in c4d, unless Id have to edit the main fils in psd. Im just gonna check out shapeshifter ae. How are you getting on?
