Activity Forums Blackmagic Design 7.1 Update Report

Thought I would share some of my experience with the update so far:

In 7.0 on playback of both blackmagic footage and P2 footage, the dropped frame icon would appear in the lower right and playback would cease.

Now in 7.1 there is no dropped frame icon yet, so possibly this problem was fixed?

The update notes only say that an option to ignore the dropped frames is available, but it is a mystery that an option to ignore has solved the problem of dropped frames entirely. Is there another change that isn’t documented? What else did you fix? Please be more verbose.

    Hi Tracy,

I’m puzzled by this as I checked with the engineers and the v7.1 driver release was purely to add support for our new API/SDK. So there were some “under the hood” changes to the driver but nothing that I can see which should have changed behavior in Premiere Pro.

    I like Baz’s response!

Well, just awesome then, because it works without dropping frames, like the last one did. I guess there was a flaw that uninstalling and reinstalling fixed. SWEET.

Ok now SEE! I was right!

It would be awesome and I wouldn’t judge you at all if you were honest in your notes and mentioned what bugs you fixed. It’s not a ding that you had a bug, it’s a win for support that it gets fixed! List it!

All the cool programmers do it. Don’t you want to be a cool programmer?
