    Hi,

I plan on renting a DVCPRO-HD deck (Panasonic AJ-HD1400) to digitize tapes with a Blackmagic Extreme HD card.

So here is my newbie question: do I have to plug a “reference signal” in the deck (and/or the capture card) or just the HD-SDI cable is OK?

    Thank you

If you would like to have the blue “stop” light not flash on your AJ-HD1400, and have no issues when you output from your Blackmagic back to your AJ-HD1400, why don’t you get the nice, new Blackmagic Mini Converter sync generator – it’s only $295, and it even cheaper on “the street”. And you can use it with other non HD products like Beta machines. Is it worth the money – ABSOLUTELY. Should you order one tomorrow – ABSOLUTELY.
