  • Trouble viewing uncompressed footage after transfer from PC to MAC

Just a quick question I hope someone can help me out. Im capturing uncompressed HD 720 footage from my xbox to PC. It looks great works fine but then I have to compress the footage to send to a friend to work with. River Past Video Cleaner makes great WMV compressions but we all know AE doesnt like WMV’s. I transferred my footage to my mac pro to compress using Compressor but when opened in VLC or anything else it has an error and shows no video but plays audio. Any help or suggestions on the best method to compress this footage with best quality possible maybe into a MOV or another AVi format. Thankss

    Hi.

What kind of card do you have ?

I usually make my pc uncompressed files BM 4:4:4 and it works perfect on my mac and final cut etc.

WMV is deffinetly bad idea 🙂 … not so compatible on mac even if it plays but as you sayed vlc will die on that sometimes.

Try not to mix fish and chips with big mac 🙂

Ultimate possibility is to make TIFF tga sequences and rejoin those frames in quiqtime pro and save them as one uncompressed MOV and then recompress as needed.

    Hope it helps.
