    Hi,

Currently the DeckLink HD Studio does not capture from the DVI output of graphics cards. Our engineers are working on an update to DeckLink HD Studio to add support for newer HDMI devices that have been released subsequent to the initial release of the DeckLink HD Studio. It is quite possible that this will help with your attempt to capture the DVI output of your MacBook Pro although we won’t know until the new update is ready to test. I believe this should happen within the following month.

I do know that the Intensity card running Intensity 1.3 drivers is able to capture 1280×720 and 1920×1080 resolutions from a MacBook Pro. Unfortunately the Intensity cannot be used in a PowerMac G5 at this time so you would need to use it in a Mac Pro or a PC.

I cannot guarantee that the DeckLink HD Studio will capture the DVI output of your MacBook Pro. It was not designed to do that but it might be possible with a firmware update. Intensity originally could not capture from DVI outputs but a subsequent driver/firmware update added this capability. The two cards use different hardware so will simply have to try adding this feature to DeckLink HD Studio to see if it works.

    hi luke …
thanks for your answer … it will be great when an dvi support will implementet in to the
DL HD STUDIO card … the think is that it will be enough that the hdmi port will recognise
that there is an device on the port and my mac/dvi port will give me the options for an sec. monitor i can setup it for the right hdtv norm resolution with an little tool called DisplayConfigX. so that the HD STUDIO card wil get his supported hd resolutions and will be ready to capture.
thats my theory .. what are you thinking .. can it work ?

    Hi Hamdemir,

When Intensity is set to capture from the DVI output of a MacBook Pro, the Intensity shows up as a second monitor in the Displays preferences of the MacBook Pro and it was not necessary to use a third party utility to make this work. Assuming that we can get DeckLink HD Studio to capture in a similar manner to the Intensity, then I would expect the process to work as you have described. However we won’t know if this is possible until the engineers have a had a chance to make it work.
