I know this is probably a ridiculous question, but I have to ask. I have been tasked with setting up a new edit suite. We have a nicely specced macPro. Almost all of our work is HDV or HD. But I am not sure what interface to get. The BM looks nice but I am having a hard time finding out hard and fast info about it!
One of the things we like about the Kona is the DVCProHD acceleration. We transcode all our HDV into DVCProHD. Does the BM have this?
Does anyone else have any experience in comparing the two product lines?

    Thanks.

May I suggest that you purchase a Discreet edit or Media 100 system from one of the users on one of these alternate forums on Creative Cow. They really need the money, and we really don’t need competition from you, with one of these excellent products. Also, I hear that Bluefish (ex Digital Voodoo) makes products for you also – buy this !

It seemed to me that philsmy asked a legitimate question and got a nastygram in response. I’m interested in seeing an intelligent response to the original question from someone who knows what he/she is talking about. I’m also curious about what prompted Mr. Zelin (who usually gives very thoughtful responses) to respond to the question as if he’s from another planet. I suspect I’m missing something here. Please enilighten me.

Jeez! All I was asking is what are the comparisons between BM and Kona (either LH or 3). Is that such a horrible question?

if you do a search plenty of threads should come up on this topic both on this forum and the AJA and FCP forums. As for Bob, guess he just didn’t get his morning coffee yet 🙂
