    Hello everyone,

I am running into a problem, I capture my video with BMD multibridge Extreme with my mac pro. The setting I use is 8=bit uncompressed. I capture to a 500GB firewire 800 harddrive. I then take that drive (later of course) and edit on a powerbook. For some reason since the upgrade to 5.7.2 I now have to render anything on my timeline. Can someone help? I do not see BMD as an easy set-up. It used to work but now it does not. Thanks for all your help

    Joe,

My bet would be that you’ve missed some little thing in your sequence settings that is not matching the material you are editing. Look carefully at the frame size, pixel aspect, field dominance, and codec. There is no reason why you should have to render this material with the proper settings…

Not sure why an upgrade would change those settings though…

Also remember to try to create a new sequence and drag a clip into it once you have the settings right.. if the frame size is different than the material FCP will automatically try to scale it to fit.. so even after you get the sequence set up correctly the material may still want rendering if you put it into the sequence before it was set up correctly.. if you know what I mean.

I hope that comment is of some use. Good luck.

Is there suppose to be blackmagic settings on my laptop or should I just use 8 bit uncompressed?

    HI,

apple 8 bit uncompressed is the right codec. But don’t forget to set the frame size and the rest of it or you will still need to render.

    Good luck!
