Mac doesn’t start-up with Decklink insde!!!
Hi,
I got a Mac Quad, with a DeckLink HD Pro installed. Aters a few days of purchase, I had to reboot 3 to 4 times for it to fully start-up. Now, all I see is a black screen(HD Mac LCD monitor) and hear a loud Fan noise. As soon as I take out the DeckLink out, it starts back with no problem.
Please help! -

mine is a Dual Core 2Ghz G5, Final Cut 5.0.4, OS 10.4.7, with a Decklink HD – it crashes on startup –
This is a new setup, but it accidently got updated to Quicktime v7.1.3 – is that the culprit? i don’t mind downgrading if that IS the culprit, can anyone confirm that i won’t be wasting my time troubleshooting this by downgrading to v7.1.2 first? Ram config is ok, (although it’s only 1.5Gb instead of 2), and it’s sitting in the 3rd PCI-X slot, bye-the-way –

Quicktime is not the culprit.
Please revert to the 5.6.2 drivers from the URL below while we sort out this issue. Thanks.

Have you tried a different slot in the Quad?

The driver installed is 5.5.1
I have tried different slots.Any ideas?

Hi Sharon,
That is a known problem with the original DeckLink HD card with DeckLink 5.7 drivers. Support for the DeckLink HD card should be fixed in the DeckLink 5.7.1 drivers which are due out soon. In the meanwhile please revert to the DeckLink 5.6.2 drivers which you can find at software archives. The DeckLink 5.7 drivers have no advantage for the DeckLink HD as they are simply an update to support the Mac Pro. To revert to the previous drivers, restart your G5 while holding down the SHIFT key until you see that your Mac has started in Safe-Boot mode. Run the DeckLink uninstaller and then reinstall DeckLink 5.6.2. Restart normally and your card should now work without problems.

Guys, it’s working now.. THANKS A LOT!! I changed the Decklink driver to the previous 5.6.2 and updated the Os X version.

I just switched to my decklink extreme because of that issuse. it is working fine SDI and 4channel audio
Should I roll back the driver and switch to my DECKLINK HD so I can use it if I need it.?I am in the middle of digitizing offline RT footage should I rollback the drive and switch cards in the middle of my digitizing ?
