I will be doing an online from a 35mm shoot for an ESPN commercial next month. I’m waiting for delilvery specs from ESPN, but until then all the agency has told me is that we need to deliver HD on D5.

ok, so I know ESPN is 720p. But is it 24p or 60p?

and if it’s 60p I’m a little confused to my workflow. It will be shot as 24fps film… so we will probably telecine at 1080/23.98 And then downconvert to 720 for thefinall output. If I add 3:2 to get 720p/30 – will that resolve fine for 720p/60?

    thanks in advance!

ESP is 720/60p. But I would wait on the final spec sheet still. You never know for each show.

You can make a HDCAM 24p to 720/60p conversion. It is a pretty common conversion.
HDCAM SR (via 5500 deck) supports 1080 and 720. You can even cross convert using the deck (with optional 10K board).
