    Hello there,

I encountered an audio issue in Premiere 2.0 and BlackMagic-HD Extreme which I know a few folks on this forum have had already but I don’t think a definate cause has been found?

Essentially, after importing a Quicktime movie (with audio) that had been rendered out of After Effects, Premiere would no longer play any audio either from the source window or from the timeline despite the audio waveforms still appearing. Restarting the application and the system had no effect. The only quick fix I found was to create a new project and import the old one into it. Everything is then fine until the Quicktime movie is played again at which point audio fails once more.

Does anybody (Blackmagic?) have any thoughts on what might be causing this? Perhaps Quicktime is not releasing the audio drivers back to Premiere in certain circumstances?

Try Preferences/Audio Hardware/ switch from Decklink Audio to Premiere Pro Windows Sound.
Now mixed format timeline plays audio fine. ( There is no BMD QT timeline in PPro, only uncompressed or DV )

    Hello there,

Thanks for the reply. But by switching the audio hardward to Premiere Pro Sound, won’t the Decklink Audio Output be muted?
