    hi all

im one step away from buyin my newest editing system, which will be a FCP on a quad G5 with lots of ram and xserve RAID. I was looking at capture cards at NAB and was impressed with AJA’s kona 3 and their k3 box. i didnt get a chance to stop by blackmagics booth but i was impressed with some of the software features like the on-air for live HDSDI switching. how are you liking your decklink extremes? would you trade it in for an AJA or do say it is better hands down? thanks in advance

If you’re looking at the k3 box, then maybe you should think about the Multibridge Extreme:

no complaints about decklink here – it works as advertised and has great customer support. the truth is they are both top inovative companies (BMD + AJA) making really good products….you cant really go wrong either way….really depends on what kind of work you will be doing….that may tip you in the favour of one over the other if one offers the exact workflow and feature set you require for your specific needs.

    Hi Bobby

I’ve had a decklink SP for some time and have just bought a multibridge extreme for my HD work. I’m still in the teething set up stage, so I’ll give some feedback soon. But in terms of support and enthusiasm to help customers achieve satisfaction BM are really top notch. They have gone beyond the call of duty to help me out in the past. And I have no problem recommending them.

Just got my multibridge working with an Apple cinema display as my 23″ Broadcast monitor. No problems so far at all, except the Multibridge is quite noisy (fan). A small gripe on what is so far a very easy to use and reliable product.
