. .for PC system. Any suggestions ? Want to use a BM Extreme card and RAID (0) to edit HD. I have a ASUS A8N-SLI Premium, CPU is AMD Anthlon 64 X2 4800+ Socket 939, 4GB Corsair RAM, and thinking about 4 SATA II WD drives in the RAID.

    Thanks in advance. . .

Check out RAIDCore at Broadcom.com. I’m running RAID 5 across two of their cards, but my work is still SD. Running RAID 0, you should be able to work with HD. I did a lot of research before going with them, and their cards rate at the top on most accounts. Plus they offer great, and fast support.

    Vince,

You may want to look at a multiport option. I’ve got four ports, each capable of handling 5 drives per. Mine includes SATA II captability in RAID 0, 1, 5, 10.

I doubt 4 drives will do uncompressed HD (it will definately do DVCProHD). If you want uncompressed HD with SATA, and you want it to be reliable, get a Sonnet E4P card, and 2 Sonnet Fusion 500 chassis with 10 SATA drives, and you will be ok.

Uncompressed HD ain’t cheap – sorry.
