My SDI output of my Extreme card cuts out and everything goes black, fuzzy green and white for no apparent reason. If I unplug the cable and re-attach it, it fixes the problem for about five minutes then it goes fuzzy again!

    Hi Johnny,

Was this working before or is this a new installation?

Have you tried changing another SDI cable just to make sure it’s not a cable fault?

How is the analog outputs of the card when the SDI output starts going all whacky?

Which specific driver do you have installed? v5.5.1?

    regards

    Hi Johnny,
I also had the same problem. When the problem occurs reach behind the computer and hold the cables attached to the card and releave the tension of the cables if the problem goes away then try reseating the card and make sure that the cables don’t have any tension on them to pull card.

    Hope it works,

I’ve had the system for a year and a half, it’s been doing this for the last few months. I don’t have another cable to try since I’m going right from the card to the SDI input on the monitor.

The analog out is fine, though

There’s no tension on the cable, but reconnecting it makes the problem go away for a few minutes

    Hi John,

It’s possible that the card is faulty and we’ll be happy to replace it. However, we also need to rule out any cable faults or you’ll just end up with a replacement card but still get the same problem. Please try another SDI cable to be sure.
