Audio delay is killng me, please help! (repost)
I have posted this (desperate) query before, but no luck yet – so here I am again bearing my soul and G5 housing!
I have a very irritating problem: if there is an audio gap in my timeline and the playhead then reaches a point where there is a clip with audio, it takes approx 18 frames or so until I hear audio. i.e. the first 18 frames of audio does not play at all, even though it is there.
An interesting feature is that if I click backwards in the timeline to the beginning of the same clip (while still playing) then the audio plays out just fine.
Does this have something to do with locking to the sample rate? I am working in a standard 48khz pal dv timeline (as well as some projects with 48khz 8-bit uncompressed timelines).
As you might imagine, not being able to hear the first bit of audio when editing dialogue or anything where sound is important is a major headache.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Have just updated to OS 10.4.5 and the Quicktime 7.0.4 in the hopes it would rectify the problem, but no luck.
Have a blackmagic extreme card and monitoring audio via ‘Decklink Audio’ in the system settings dialogue. In FCP (ver 5.0.4) I have audio also set to ‘Decklink Audio’ in the audio/video settings dialogue.
Please help, my boss is starting to give me funny looks!
