  audio delay in FCP 5

  I have a 12 frame audio delay when playing back a sequence in FCP. If I drag the playhead to the beginning of the clip (after pressing play) the audio plays back, but if I
  start playing from the head of the sequence (or anywhere in the sequence) there is a 12 frame delay before I can hear any audio. When playing music from iTunes
  (for instance) this isn’t the case. Any ideas would be appreciated..
