  simple questions

  My setup:
  G5 dual 2.5 (PCI-X), 4.5 GB RAM, nVidia 6800 Extreme
  Drives: 2x internal 250 GB SATA, 4x external LaCie d2 Extreme 500 GB FiWi
  Displays: 30″ Cinema display + 23″ Cinema display
  Main apps: Tiger/FCP Studio/AE6.5 pro

  My questions:

  1. My main video work is SD (Digibeta, Beta SX and DV)
  I want to purchase a Decklink Pro card but would like to know if the Extreme card would give me any benefit. I rarely use Beta SP so the component input is not a real advantage. Only advantage I see would be to be able to connect my analogue audio mixer to the Extreme card for voice over work, eliminating the FiWi A/D converter I’m using now. Am I right ?

  2. I use a Sony 15″ broadcast monitor for viewing. I would like to use the 23″ Cinema Display instead. I have read the Cinema Digital Desktop does not work well with uncompressed video. Do I need the HD-link for this, or is there something like an SD-link as I don’t work in HD ?
